Apprentice Plumber, near-qualified

Lightning Fast Plumbing & Electrical is growing fast across the South Peninsula and Southern Suburbs, working for rental agents, estate agents and homeowners. We need a plumber who does things properly every time.

Our standard: an agent recently wrote to thank us for treating her client “with such kindness, patience and consideration.” That’s the job here: good plumbing, done neatly, with respect for the people whose homes we work in.

What you’ll do

• Rental repairs, geysers, leaks and drains, following our written procedures (SOPs) on every job
• Record each job with photos in our app
• Represent us in clients’ homes and in front of agents

What we need, with no compromise

• Real, proven plumbing experience, ideally close to your trade test
• You follow procedures exactly, even when you think you know better
• Neat, well presented and professional
• Trustworthy with a company vehicle, stock and tools
• A valid driver’s licence
• Drug-free. You consent to drug testing and a criminal background check

What we offer

• R12,000 to R15,000 per month, depending on experience and trade test status
• Support towards your trade test, in writing
• Growth into a qualified plumber position as the company grows

How to apply

Following these instructions is part of the test. Email cv@lightningfast.co.za with the subject line “Apprentice Plumber – [your full name]”. Attach your CV, and answer each numbered point in your email:

1. Relevant experience: each employer, how long, and the plumbing work you did (geysers, leaks, drains, rental repairs)
2. Qualifications: trade school, learnership and trade test status, with dates
3. Photos: two or three photos of your own work, with one sentence on each
4. Why you left each previous job, or why you want to move now
5. Your biggest frustration in your current or last job
6. Driver’s licence: your licence code
7. References: two previous employers we can phone, with their numbers
8. Start date: when you can start

Shortlisted candidates complete a paid practical assessment. Applications that don’t answer every numbered point won’t be considered.

Closing date: 22 October 2026.
